Accessibility statement

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This statement describes the measures in place, how compliance is verified, and what falls outside its scope.

Last reviewed:

Conformance status

Fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, except for the known limitations listed below.

How it is verified

Every push runs an automated audit with axe-core on 2 routes, on desktop and mobile: 10 checks in total, including keyboard navigation, focus trapping in panels, and a text alternative when WebGL2 is unavailable.

Automated tools catch only part of accessibility issues, so the checks are complemented with manual keyboard navigation.

Measures in place

  • Verified contrast

    Criteria: 1.4.3 · 1.4.11

All text meets a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background. It is checked automatically on every change, on flat colors (not oklch), so the tool resolves the real contrast without manual patches.

  • Resizable text

    Criteria: 1.4.4

The accessibility panel lets you adjust text size in five steps, without loss of content or functionality.

  • Keyboard operable

    Criteria: 2.1.1 · 2.1.2

All functionality is available from the keyboard: the tower's level rail can be navigated and announces the active position, and detail panels trap focus correctly when they open and return it when closed with Escape.

  • Reducible motion

    Criteria: 2.3.3 · 2.2.2

The system's «prefers-reduced-motion» setting is respected, and the panel lets you manually turn off the camera's vestibular motion (travel, tracking, banking) without turning off the site.

  • Alternative without WebGL

    Criteria: 1.1.1

If the browser does not support WebGL2, the content of every tower level remains available as plain text, verified by a dedicated test.

  • High contrast on demand

    Criteria: 1.4.1 · 1.4.3

The panel offers a high contrast mode that applies to the whole document and is fully reverted when turned off.

Settings available on this site

The accessibility panel, in the bottom right corner, lets you adjust:

  • Text size in five levels
  • High contrast mode
  • Reduce motion (including the tower's 3D camera)
  • Underline all links
  • Text alignment (left, center, right, justified)
  • Read content aloud

Known limitations

  • The 3D tower is the site's main interface: although its content has a complete text alternative, the spatial navigation experience itself depends on scroll gestures that not every assistive technology reproduces the same way.
  • Linked projects are third-party sites or earlier work: their accessibility is not covered by this statement.
  • The panel's read-aloud feature uses the browser's speech synthesis (Web Speech API); its availability and voice quality vary by device.
